Andrea Carson writes on contemporary art, architecture and design.
She returned to Toronto in 2003 after having spent six years in London where she managed several art galleries and received her Masters degree in Art Criticism from City University (UK).
A current particular focus is the promotion of Canadian art internationally. Carson has curated a
number of projects, including Revealed: New Canadian Video, a screening at Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London and the online art auction site, Artbombdaily.com. Her broad range of interests includes video and conceptual installation artwork, product and interior design, architecture and cultural administration.
Her writing appears in exhibition catalogues and on Artnet.com, in Azure, ARTnews, Art Review, Art Papers, Contemporary, Border Crossings, C magazine, Canadian Art, CONTACT magazine, Fuse, the Globe and Mail and as Canadian correspondent for UK-based publication State of Art.
She has taught Critical Writing at Brock Unversity in St. Catharines, Ontario and is a former board member of Mercer Union Centre for Contemporary Visual Arts and ArtsScene, Toronto. She sits on the City of Toronto Public Art Commission.
